While in college, struggling with the great questions like “Who am I”, “What’s my life purpose?”, “Will I ever find true love?”, I discovered that astrology was more than a sun sign forecast in a ladies’ magazine. Up until then, I thought “my sun in an earth sign” was boring. But through a savvy friend, I found out that I had a moon, and a rising sign, planets, asteroids, all in a symphony of the sacred geometry of their relationships (aspects), and the everchanging forces working upon them (transits) which never stopped moving, evolving, influencing the ebb and flow of my life. “Ahhhh…this is interesting” and my fascination began.

Star Power: Astrology’s Place in my Healing Practice

When I began my healing practice, I noticed that people decide to seek some form of personal work, healing relief or support during a confusing or trying time: A broken heart, losing a job, undergoing a divorce, loss or grief of some kind, an accident or health challenge, career or education challenges, relationship or family conflict or workplace drama. It was always a period of increased stress or longing for something better. And I would wonder: Was there some revealing indication about what was happening in their stars?

Astrology is like a Time Code Calculator, a term coined by Greg Braden, which finds repeating cycles that make certain conditions possible (not exact predicted events, but energetic circumstances which offer similar conditions.) Each cycle also contains Choice Points to new outcomes under repeating historical conditions. These are times of change, innovation, destruction and creation. We live inside of a cycle, a pulsing field of energies, within which we can choose and create new outcomes. Astrology reveals the grand stage upon which we do our karmic evolutionary work. “Information is power.” With informed choices, we can set our life’s course in a positive direction again.

When, Where, How, Through Whom, the Soul Chooses to Incarnate

My breakthrough came when I learned that our souls choose their moment. YES, into a particular time, YES, with these parents, YES, in this country, YES, with these traits and potentialities in order to fulfil our soul purpose. We experience agency when we realize that incarnation is our choice. Yet often we might ask, “What was my soul thinking?” Enter Astrology, to help crack the code.
